They were unnecessary because before the ban on home gardens under "the Safe Food and Farm act" of 2010, his family had worked hard over the years, planting, harvesting drying and canning enough extra food to supply them for 2 1/2 to 3 years with sensible use.

Mike, Kyle, Morgan and Annette had all worked very hard for 3 months in 2009 and dug a pit on the neighboring abandon property. The pit was about 12 feet wide, 20 feet long, and 14 feet deep. On the bottom they leveled 2 feet of river gravel and sunk a well to the under ground creek 40 feet below, the water wasn't the clearest but it was safe, the walls were constructed from railroad ties to discourage termites that permeated the area, the floor and roof were made from old treated beams salvaged from the old county horse barn they salvaged back in 08. The entire bunker was put together by drilling holes and using wooden pegs to join the ties and beams to avoid metal detectors. A trap door was installed in the sealing to provide an emergency escape hatch and a fresh air vent with a small fan was installed and emerged in one of the hollow trees 30 feet away, with an exhaust fan in another. The hardest part of the construction and the most ingenious was the entrance tunnel. Under their home was an old abandon heat pump unit that hadn't been used for years, they gutted it leaving only the top and the metal box, above it they pulled up a full section of the plywood floor, and clipped the nails protruding through the underside leaving the nail heads exposed on the surface. On the under side they installed 6 bar type latches so it would appear to anyone trying to pull the panel up that it was still securely nailed. A trench was dug from the heat pump to the bunker, a roof installed and covered over with several feet of dirt, the normal layers of leaves and other woods debris was then replaced, the whole thing was virtually undetectable.

The bunker was the home of their food stash, several guns garnered from private sales and not registered, ammunition, a small 1200 watt Honda generator, lighting, 20 gallons of gas, and several 3 gallon buckets with lids for necessary body functions, medical supplies and any other items that would keep the family secure for several months or until cabin fever over took them.

The trips to the food banks were necessary to keep up the appearance of normalcy. Mike had spent 5 months in the local Social orientation program back in 2010 because of his survival blogs on the old net and because the authorities were sure he had survival food and guns stashed some where on or near the property. The Social orientation program was set up in an old refurbished youth corrections facility near Mariana. It was a typical medium security unit with dormitories a chow hall and various class room buildings, work shops and surrounded by a 12 foot chain link fence topped with razor wire. It was a residency program, 24 hour attendance was required and no visitation or out side contact, even though this was an educational program those who attempted to escape were charged as felons and sent off to who knows where, after 5 months he was able to convince the board of social congeniality that he wasn't really a survivalist but just played one on the net.

Another public safety check point had been set up in Youngstown , a small town between Panama City and Fountain so there were now four check points between home and the food bank so the round trip now took ten hours in stead of the usual four.

some times these arduous trips were lightened by the sight of old acquaintances or old enemies going through the bureaucratic nightmare of obtaining that weeks ration of food. Today happened to be one of those days. Off to the side of one of the application desks were two NSC volunteers jostling a man mike recognised as Bill Johanson. Johanson had been the General Manager of, a new car lot a few years back where Mike had been hired as a consultant for one of the government bail out plans for a short period, and had been screwed by Johanson by only paying him about a quarter of the money they had agreed on, once the program was over even though under his guidance the program had been a huge, if temporary, success. Mike took an un christian like delight in noting Johanson didn't much resemble the, well dressed, arrogant jerk of a couple of short years ago, he was no longer so well dressed, but still an arrogant jerk. His once shinny shoes were scuffed an worn down badly at the heels, and his suit obviously hadn't been cleaned or pressed in a long time. Johanson had lost some noticeable weight along with some hair, and his face was sort of a grey pasty complexion, He was arguing that he needed extra rations , and that he was a personal friend of Gill Hodges. Hodges had been the owner of ten dealerships before the government nationalised them and had been a Bay county commissioner for several terms, with political ambitions, he was now the director of the National Transportation and safety board. The two NSC guards roughly jostled Johanson towards the exit spilling the contents of the two boxes of food mixing flour, powdered milk, and a small bag of sugar in a jumbled white pile on the well trodden floor near Mikes feet. Johanson looked up with a plea for help written across his face ,it was then that Mike heard the words, "ya know Bill it's times like this that I sometimes still believe there is a God" coming out of his own mouth. Johanson looked up with a questioning stare, in his befuddled mind he didn't recognise the man he had cheated those few years ago, but no matter, Mike knew and it made this trip worth the hastle.

In line six three places behind him was another Bill, Bill Sikes, Sikes lived with his son, daughter and wife on the next street north of Mike. Sikes had been in the system for several years, he had been a heavy drinker smoker and was into pills, and crack on occasion when he could scrounge some up but really was an ok guy, just one of many social cases in the neighborhood. His son, chad, was the same age as kyle and a friend of Kyles sense they were very small spending many summers and sleep overs at the Wier residence. Kyle was tall for sixteen, over six feet, but Chad was a gentle giant, at six four and near 300 pounds. It seemed all Kyle's friends were tall, all of them were at least six foot or better. All were "gamers" and just didn't seem to be motivated as the children of past generations. But who could blame them with the curfew in effect and restricted movement there just wasn't much else to do, unless you wanted to watch government social education lectures, or big brother, re runs of survivor on TV. Mike had his own theories about the seeming lack of motivation, they included the breakfast and lunch food served each day at school, (school was now 12 months per year with a 7 day break each quarter) the many shots required by law and the liquid Prozac (fluoride) required in the water system, but Kyle and his friends were not slackers, many were very aware of the path America was on and many were out right anarchists in their thinking, that plus their natural teen age rebelliousness gave Mike hope that this new generation would be the one to bring America back to its roots. Yes there would be blood, and a huge loss of virulent young men and women but when had there not been, the difference would only be, that this loss would be for true freedom and not some government devised war in a far off land most couldn't find on a map. Yes a successful revolt would mean that America would be thrown back a hundred years or so, but was that a bad thing, in his mind and the mind of many others, he didn't think so.
Mike believed it would take America back to the days when neighbor helped neighbor, community barn or house raising's, large gardens would once again appear, and barter would once be the order of the day. Man and woman would once more be the masters of their own fate. The original Constitution would be reborn, and friends and neighbors would serve in the new all volunteer government as originally intended, not Professional politicians, regulators, and code enforcers. Only nonessential imports and luxury items would be taxed, not the sweat and blood of ones own labor. Yes it would be tough on many but what is freedom and liberty worth?Factories would be reopened, and our unequaled Manufacturing capabilities of the 40s and 50s would be the best on the planet. Is it only a pipe dream in Mikes mind? It could well be but he believed in the American people, and there would be a time when enough would be enough.

THE STORM (chapter one)

Even though he knew it was coming he's hart still jumped into his throat as the old Mercury approached the bridge just north of Hwy 20. Sitting caty-corner across the highway just a few yards in front of the bridge were two National Service Corps Hummers, with a third sitting straight on in the middle of the southbound lanes. No less than eight NSC volunteers were Manning the check point. They were all wearing the surplus desert storm type camos with the now recognisable American Flag shoulder patch with the bright gold NSC stitched across the face. The third Humvee in the middle of the road was maned by two Florida National Guard soldiers apparently supervising the check point, these were two members of the new Florida national guard, they were easily recognisable by the new woodland camo uniforms. The old guard had been disband last year for lack of funding , Florida could no longer afford to support it, so, the Feds had stepped in and nationalised it funding it from the presidents stimulus package as it had done in most of the other states. The guard had been greatly reduced in numbers of course, and was now made up of mostly officers and sargents , in a training and supervisory capacity, a system very similar to the advisers, used during the Viet Nam era some forty years before. The National Guard vehicles were also the only ones equipped with the heavier caliber SAWS mounted in the turent on top of the Humvee.

Mike had, of course, expected this, and had blogged about it on the old net as long as five years ago, but few read the blog and most were too busy getting their share of the "bail out" money to pay much attention to a crazy old coot ranting about a more and more repressive government that chose to ignore the constitution, "for the good of the people", and finally suspending it early in 2010 when the Neighborhood Protection and Safety Act was signed into law.

The old net was replaced with Net 2 on December 25, 2009 as a Christmas present to the American people. The new net was much faster, almost instant response time. This speed improvement was accomplished for the most part by eliminating all of the clutter that had existed on the Net, and reducing it to 1000 consolidated sites licensed by the FCC. Those with independent sites were allowed to sell the content of their sites to any of those new licensed sites, who wished to buy them. Some site info sellers made millions, and even the small anti big government sites like Mike's were bought up by the conservative conglomerates, who borrowed billions to buy them. They all went bankrupt in march of 2010 when the new Patriot Act III was passed, with the "fairness in reporting" clause and the "hate speech" clause were passed by the senate, making it illegal to use derogatory speech or writing when referring to any government official, elected, appointed, or hired, either paid or volunteer.

Mike's old joints were painfully jolted out of the day dream by the blaring horn, from the SUV behind him in the line. As he eased his foot off the brake to pull up to the check point, he turned to Kyle and instructed him to remember not to look any of the troops directly in the eyes, and to keep his hands folded in his lap, keep quiet and do exactly as he was told, and no quick moves. Morgan in the back seat was tearing up and was obviously frightened, her eyes as big as a Teddy Bear's , had he known the check point was here he wouldn't have brought his eight year old daughter along, until he had passed through the check point a few times and the troops were used to seeing him, and the danger of an "accident" or "incident,"as the media called them, was not nearly so great.

He knew the checks would eventually be installed somewhere near here, and they chose a good defensible spot, the reinforced concrete bridge crossed a small creek, wide enough and with banks steep enough to both stop any vehicle that tried to go around the check point, and offer good cover and firing positions for the troops should the need arise. There had been several "incidents" since the Neighborhood Protection and Safety Act had been passed . Over two hundred had been shot by the troops shortly after they arrived and set up the first check points. A Patriot group calling themselves the Emerald Coast Militia had confronted the troop head quarters at the old library about a week after they arrived and begin to set up the check points, the patriots brought their guns to show solidarity for the second amendment, the commander of the troops ordered his men to disarm the patriots after explaining the constitution had been suspended by Patriot ActIII, a shouting match instantly incurred, followed very quickly by a pushing and shoving, several shots rang out, both sides blamed the other for shooting first, the video from the security cameras were never released for National Security reasons, but the end result was that nine troopers and every patriot was wounded in some way, either from gun shots or rifle butts. One trouper and 114 patriots died on the day of the first incident,
There were many such skirmishes over those first weeks all around the country some much larger and some much smaller. No exact number of those wounded or killed were ever released "for security reasons" it was said, many were arrested and held incognito so the we never knew the numbers, and they ranged from several hundred to tens of thousands. Sense that first week there were other incidents in Bay county, most in Panama city and most of those in the poorer neighborhoods where the people were more inclined to challenge authority.

Mike coaxed the old Mercury forward to a position between the two pimply face teen NSC volinteer members, neither of which looked like they were much older than his 16 year old son, as he rolled to a stop he retrieved the packet of permit cards from behind the sun visor, rolled down the window and handed the cards to the trooper, as he did so he informed the youthful guard that his son would have to open the passenger door to present his and his sisters permits as the window wouldn't roll down on the passenger side of the car. After a nod of consent Kyle slowly opened the passenger door, being careful to move slowly, and keep both hands in plain sight of the guard on his side of the car just as Mike had drilled him to do. Each child of school age was required to always have their National Health Care card/ID, their shot record card, their school attendance card, and their volunteer extra credits after school lecture card. Any absences from school were dealt with by a personal visit to the home by an NSC volunteer with in three hours of the tardiness and an explanation of each was encoded on the chip on the attendance card. Each student was required to attend at least three "volunteer" lectures per week, any absences there were investigated by the Child Mental Health and Safety board.

The six cards Mike carried were a little more complicated but all were required. First of course was the National drivers permit/residence verification card it was introduced in early 2010 to replace the individual state drivers license in order to make it easier for travelers to comply with traffic laws which were now handled by the National Transportation Safety Board instead of individual states. The FED Credits allocation card was issued back in late 2010 when the dollar collapsed and the government moved to a cashless system. The assigned occupation card described the work each citizen was qualified to preform, sense Mike was retired he had no occupation listed, only the number of hours he had spent that week at the direction of the National volunteer Neighborhood help force, his requirement was 10 hours per week. The mileage permit, was of course, the card that allowed him to drive 150 miles per month, along with the Fuel permit which permitted him 81/2 gallons of gas per month. Last was the family food allotment card, allowing the two boxes of food every two weeks.

The cards were placed in the hand held scanner and cleared by the computer, the cards were returned and Mike was given the signal to move forward to the "sniffer hut". The sniffer hut was one of those temporary shelters you used to see at yard sales or craft shows before they were outlawed under the anti black market/contraband codes. Lined up out side the tent was a bank of computers controlling the sniffers that checked the air for gun powder residue, chemical bomb ingredients, sent from fresh food, illegal alternative fuels, tobacco, drugs, and who knew what else. The green light flashed on and he pulled out of the checkpoint at a crawl, passing two NSC guards with MP5s with 120 shot clips at the ready, he kept the car at a crawl until he passed the SAW equipped Hummer about 50 feet past the sniffer tent. Morgan in the back seat was sobbing, declaring, through gulps of air and sniffles, she wanted to go home and stay with mom, it was far too late for that.

hard goods or hard cash

Let me say right up front that I do believe you should have some cash stashed for the coming events, but I also believe that if things get chaotic, cash will not have as much value as hard goods.

BY hard goods I,m talking about useful metals like iron, tin, copper, wood boards or ply wood and the like.

Considering the shape of the world economy today and most particularly here in America, and all the talk of the Amero or a world currency replacing our dollar, just doesn't lend it self, to the creditability of the paper currency, and that's aside from the fact that paper just doesn't hold up under the harsh conditions we may soon face.

In an earlier paper I listed some of the trade goods that would be of value in a chaotic society, I guess this amounts to an extension of that list. With the prices of metals dropping as they did most of the items in the following discussion are available free or at most a very modest price. Ill start at the top and work down from there.

GOLD

First with gold hovering at around $900 an ounce it is already out of reach for most of us, but if you have the cash then by all means buy some gold, and I don't mean paper gold, or gold futures.
You should have learned from the stock market and mortgage markets, they are just a paper shuffling scam run by the banksters who let you dabble a little until the decide to take all.

Buy real gold, coins are available from 1/10 oz. up to the most familiar 1 oz, i strongly recommend some 1/10 oz. coins because if the country self destructs you don't want to give a $2000 Krugerrand away for a sack of potatoes. You may need fast access to your gold so a bank is probably not the place, since they will be closed with your gold in their vault. If you can afford to buy gold then you can also afford to have a hidden safe installed, or better yet install it your self, the guy you hire to install it, and his friends will know where to find you and the safe if the shtf. I'm sure you know not to buy jewelry so I won't even go there. Try to buy the gold as close to spot as you can, it is getting hard to find at less then 10% over spot but shop around it can be found at 3% to 4% over spot.

I suggested earlier, to stay away from jewelery, let me clarify that statement a little. Tough times are already here for many of us so if you know what you are doing buying jewelry at pawn prices isn't necessarily all bad, a plain gold wedding band for example could buy food or be used for barter for smaller items worth less than that 1/10 oz coin.

SILVER

Silver has many more uses then gold, like medicine, industrial, and as primers for explosives so I would recommend a good portion of your precious metals budget be in silver. I have no inside info supporting this it just makes sense to me. It will allow you to purchase or trade in smaller increments, and if the world falls apart will be in higher demand than gold I believe, just a gut feeling.

Silver coins demand a premium price so I'm not too crazy about them as a survival tool when a one oz. silver bar will bring the same result as a silver dollar. You can buy the bar at spot +, the silver dollar is going to cost you spot +++ . I do though recommend a few rolls of silver dimes for the same reason as the 1/10 oz. gold coin, for smaller purchases or trades. If you attend yard sales keep your eye out for Sterling jewelry many times the person doing the yard sale is not aware Sterling is 90% + silver and can be bargained down to a very good price.

COPPER

Copper will be in demand because it resists bacteria, and is very easy to work with without the use of heavy duty machinery, or machining tools. Copper can be melted in a camp fire and forged into many useful tools or weapons. Copper sheeting can easily be hammered in to pots and pans ,weapons and many other items. Copper tubing will be vvaluable in many different sizes for use in purification systems, water filters, and stills for producing alcohol, Alcohol will be a valuable commodity, for use as medicine, sterilisation, fuel, and of course to drink.

LEAD
Lead in my opinion could replace gold or silver as a trade commodity, for obvious reasons.
Ammunition is already scarce and getting harder to find every day.

STEEL

Steel will be an obvious asset for trade and use in making weapons, tools, and shields against assault. All forms of steel will be useful, sheet, plate, and angle.

IRON

Iron will Cary the same uses as steel but will be easier to work with if your tool chest is not as ample, iron can be welded with a 12 v battery and a coat hanger.

IRON PIPE

Iron pipe of various sizes will be valuable to repair and build water systems, wells, building material and many other uses.

CONDUIT OR TIN PIPE

Conduit will be useful in the above applications , plus crude but effective weapons can easily be made from conduit pipe.

TIN

tin sheeting will be useful as a building and building repair commodity.

AUTO PARTS

Auto parts for repair of autos will have many obvious uses, plus some not so obvious, alternators can be used to generate small amounts of electricity, and batteries are a good source of both acid and lead, as well as storing small amounts of electricity in each battery. Batteries can easily be rebuilt and with several to store electricity can run a house or several other machines.

BICYCLES

Bicycles will be very valuable both as transportation and to power generators, alternators and many other machines.

MAGNESIUM

magnesium is very useful when mixed with iron oxide as a way to melt steel, or any thing else for that matter.

ALUMINIUM

The many uses of aluminium is so useful I really don't even go into it at this point.

Hope you find this useful Jerico

survive and thrive under marshall law

In every day conversation with like minded folks, and most especially on the alternative news net sites I constantly hear the fog horn voice of those who proclaim those words of posterity, "OUT OF MY COLD DEAD HANDS" well guess what folks those words are very true, if need be they will kill you to take those guns, food,

If you think the IRS or your local gung ho cop is hard to deal with, I've got news for ya, you ain't seen nothin yet. Science has proven that the human male brain is not capable of total rational thought until at least the age of 25, that's why the military uses those 18, 19 and 20 yr olds to do the grunt work.
they will be the ones Manning the check points, and conducting the weapons, and contraband searches. To reiterate my thought on bravery 'it's not the one who dies for his ideals that is the winner but the one who causes the other guy to die for his." In that vein, following are a few tips on how to cope under Marshall law.

First and foremost be sure that your stock of food and other essentials are in good order, travel will be extremely restricted, and most probably dangerous. Do not under any circumstances do any thing to draw attention to you or your family, no flashy jewelry, fancy cloths or kids playing battery operated toys in the back seat. Remember you always want to be known as just another starving citizen just trying to survive. Never never Carry any thing that can be construed as a weapon of any kind., pocket knife, scissors, screw driver ect.

Always have any necessary paper work ready to present in a neat orderly packet.

Never look a posted guard directly in the eye, chances are they will be nervous and frightened of you, and a perceived threatening look or attitude from you will not result in a friendly response, and most times will result in an undesired one.

If approaching a check point in a vehicle, always approach very slowly unless otherwise directed.

Roll the driver window down , and if there is a guard on each side of the car roll the passenger window down also.

Always be polite, and comply with all requests, with out argument, and in a careful deliberate manor. (remember you are not at that moment a free thinker but a thankful compliant sheeple)

When given a pass slowly drive away from the location. They won't appreciate rocks and dirt spun up on their spit shined boots.

WALKING CHECK POINT

Here the process is much the same. The chances are it will either be a hotter or colder experience than a drive through and therefore, more stressful. Be patient exasperation will only draw unwanted notice and response.

Do not resist a pat down, or frisk as some call it.

After passing the check point do not look back, they will think you got away with something, and this will again draw unwanted attention.

HOUSE AND PROPERTY SEARCH

Remember that under Marshall law you have no personal or property rights.

Be sure that all weapons in the house are "legal" any others should have long ago been stashed in a safe place. If they find any that are not legal you probably won't have time to pack a bag before they drag you off to the camp, or worse to prison.

Do not have any ammo for any weapon that is not legal where it can be found, this will immediately result in a complete search of your property, and a grueling interrogation, and possible incarceration.

Have on hand in the house only three days to a weeks worth of food and water, the rest should be stashed.

Remember that all excess food, tools, ammo, or other needed items will be considered contraband and will most probably label you as a black marketeer, and barter under Marshall law will be considered blackmarketeering and could be punishable by imprisonment or execution.

These are the basics of survival under Marshall law, I am fully aware that these rules are distasteful and hard to swallow, but they are necessary if you are to survive to help rebuild your great country when the time is right.

live to fight another day
Jerico

survival trade goods

following is a list of barter items:

HOUSE HOLD In those bygone days there was freedom, that sadly will never be experienced by any one in this country, less than 50 yrs old, unless there is a complete break down of the curant system. Even in those wounderfull days, those who lived in the large citys did not, for the most part, plant gardens, make their own tools, or need to improvise as much as those in the country settings, so below you will find basic info, tools and other supplys necessary to exist in what, I believe, is the not to distant future.

There soon will be 2 books available on self subsistance and surviveing the near future. more will be available on them in later posts. I will begin with the bare esentuals and expand from there.

It takes 1200 lbs. per year of healthy food for each human to survive in a relitivly functional state. Todays supermarkets carry a 3 day supply. You need to start storeing food today. The food must not be parisables. You may likely not have refrigeration, so foods like frozen vegies or meat are not an option unless they are dried or canned. Beans and rice such as red beans and rice are a whole food and can be stored for years you need both, one for protein and one for carbs and starches. dry grains such as corn and wheat, flour, sugar, salt and other spices for jazing up booring tast and bartering. these all can be stored for long periods in plastic air tight water proof containers from one gallon to 55 gallon drums. Here I need to interject, I'm not too crazy about "survival " food, they are priced about three times what they should be and I consider most of those producing and selling it as profiteers, but if you have the funds great go ahead the food is good for the most part, very convient, and easily stored.
You must have a clean water source minimum of 1 gal per day per person, again water may be stored in containers, if stored you must boil the water before use. If you have your own well great but, get a hand pump installed in the well system there most likely will not be power available to pump the water if you have acess to a streampond or lake, great but boil the water before use.Meat will be scarce so you will have to supliment your diet with 1 Tbs of oil per day per person, virgin olive oil is best, non vegitable oil is an option.

The citys will quickly become unbearable so if you have the option move to the country or at very least a small town and a small town is not one with 10,000 population I'm talking rural small town. There is still dirt cheap property available in these small towns all over America but it is being gobbled up fast by those in the Know.

CLOTHING
Be selective party dresses and Armani suits will not be the dress code of the day. Have available rugged clothing levis, ranglers, heavy duty boots, jackets and coats heavy and light, clothing that you can layer according to need, army surplus and camo clothing I'm not too crazy about, there may be situations where you don't want to be mistaken for military personel, or a militia type.

ARMS AND WEPONS
some who read this are squemish about guns I know, but they will be a tool to protect your family, you and your suplys. These will be desperate times and desperate people do desperate things.
Think, what you would do to feed your children if they were starving before your eyes.
There are four basic guns types and they each are tools of a different trade so to speak.1. hand gun is used for close range protection only, The caliber has to be .38 or larger to be of much use, the lighter the gun and the bigger caliber, the harder it is to control the second shot. I recommend .38 .357 or 9 mm hand guns with a heavy frame, the heavy frame will give you more control, will be more rugged, and easier on your arm and wrist under repeated fireing conditions. Those calibers are large enough to stop most intruders. If you must buy a cheaper gun I recommend a revolver and speed loaders, cheap semi auto loaders are not always reliable, however if you can afford a good semi auto get it by all means, and with the highest capacity clip you can get, ten or more shots can sometimes make up for bad aim.

2. Shot gun. Here I constantly see others touting the 12 guage as the ultimate, I don't agree. The 12 ga. has little more stopping power than a 16ga or even a 20ga but the kick from a 12 guage is much greater. There are 3 basic loads for a shot gun, bird shot for small game, buck shot of verious size for home protection, and slugs for heavy duty hunting or protection. You must have a good supply of all three. Don't be fooled by what you see on tv, a blast of bird shot from a 12 guage even at close range will, most often not imedeatly kill your enemy, any they will be concious to harm you untill they bleed to death, if they do. Penitration of the human body must be 5 to 6 inches to reach vital organs and bird shot will generally only penitrate about 4 depending how close they are. I recommend a 16 or 20 ga semi auto or pump shot gun loaded alternately with 1 bird shot,1 .00 buck shot 1 rifled slug in that order, and fill out the magazine with the buck and slugs. I use the first bird shot as a warning, like a rattle, snake to let the intruders know you are armed, and in most cases this warning shot (at the intruders not in the air) will be enough to run them off.3. rifles are without doubt the most controversial and most complicated choice, all I can do here is give you what I believe the minimum requirements. There are three basic catigories here, long range medium game, hunting/defence long barrel rifles, small claiber small game rifles, and defensive rifles with hi magazine capacity and semi autimatic rapid fire capabilities.

The long barrel "hunting" rifle if used only for food gathering or long range defense can be either, semi auto, bolt action, lever action, or pump action, and can be of any medium calber 30/30 to 308 or other more exotic calibers if you have them already in your posession, however keep in mind the ammunition availability, more common calibers will be easier to find ammo for and generally cheeper, allthough at this time ammo is not cheep in any caliber, and getting excedingly more difficult to find. The second catigory is much over looked and disreguarded by most "survivalists" types but in my opinion this is a big mistake.

The .22 caliber rifle will be essentual in small game hunting it is cheap by comparison and cheap to shoot, it can be made vertually silent with an old lawn mower muffler and some steel wool. Silence may be more of a factor now that shot detecters are being installed in citys and will eventually be extended into fish and game jurisdiction. It is also hard to skin a rabit or a squrile thats been shredded by a .306 or 308 round or mangled by a.223. Your small game rifle can be fed in any manor really, bolt, lever, or semi auto.many years ago I built a very devistateing wepon useing two Ruger rotery clip .22 with 2 thirty round clips, attached to a bracket useing a simple crank and cam trigger mechinism. these two little short barel.22s would devistate a car, and would eat up cement blocks in secounds. For you feds that may be reading this blog, don,t bother to kick in my door they were dissassembled many years ago, however instructions will be available in my new book. FRONTIER SURVIVAL 2010.

The 3rd wepons are for defensive purpose only and these are the most important at this time because of the probable coming ban and because the availability is already causing the prices to sky rocket. Some like the chinese SKS have risen in price 500% in the last year or so, and AKs have gone up beyond my simple means, not to mention the .223 cal m16. AR15s, mini 14s, bushmasters and other common militery LOOKING, so called assult rifles.About the only thing I can advise here is, for an efective defense weapon you need to trow a bunch of led so a bolt action rifle is not going to be as efective as a semi auto hi capacity one. The twpe and brand is dependent on, your budget and your experience with fire arms. Iam not a fire arms expert so I would suggest you consult with one for more exotic weapons. I will tell you that my choice is the russian made 7.62 mm SKS, or AK47, the Chinese also made millions of these but the chinese models use a lot of cast type parts where the Russian models use stamped metal parts and are much more rugged and reliable over the long haul but after beeing shot twice in Viet Nam with either one I can tell you either will do the job. The sk or ak are both very rugged, reliable and both will take a lot of abuse under very adverce conditions, mud, water, sand ect.

MEDICAL SUPPLYS
Don't clean out your medicine cabinet, throw all the out of date drugs your med bag. most drugs will last a long time if kept out of the heat, they may loose some potentcy but will be much better than none, and the corner drug store won't be an option. Don't take up space and weight with every day cold meds. you'll just have to tough out colds and minor ailments, and natural cures are abundent watch this blog or the cordite country show at Oracle network for the comeing book on natural cures by Cordie Howell. You want plenty of gause bandage, ace bandages, anticeptics, and antibiotics, you probably should have some compress bandages for more searious wounds, these are available at army surplus stores. Include sewing needles and fine 3 0r 4 lb fishing line to sew up cuts. The fishing line is avalable in very convient little mini rolls at any sporting goods store, you may even be able to find some surgical needles there or at army surplus these are fine needles in kind of a wide u shape oh and by the way the sooner you sew up a large wound after the event the less painfull it will be, the skin around the wound will be numb from natural body defence reaction to the wound.Hand sanitizerand water purification pills or liquid are a must. Splints for broken bones can be easily improvised. If nothing elce steril is available fresh news print can be used, it is one of the more steril and most available materials. Bic liters at least 5 and I recomend many more they will be valuable as a barter tool. Flashlights and plenty of extra batterys these will also be very valuable. I recomment the led type, they last longer, are much more compact, and don't eat the batteries up as fast. DON'T SKIMP ON THE LIGHTERS, OR THE FLASH LIGHTS, I said Bic because it is the most reliable available I have found.

COOKING
Forget the teflon it not good for you under normal conditions, and will be pure poisn under camp fire conditions. Compact cooking kits are available at any sporting department or at the surplus store dont skinp here either you may have to use them for a while. If you are going to be staying put remember there most likely won't be any power or at the very least prolonged power outages, so have some good heavy aluminium, or stainless pots and pans, a dutch oven, and or cast iron frying pans, a good supply of lard, oil, and spray oil. Don.t forget the utincils forks knives, spoons, metal spatula, and large cookeing spoon. With these items you can cook a gormet meal or bake a cake over a camp fire if it becomes necessary. If you have to go mobil be more selective, you can do most any thing with just a dutch oven if necessary. Mess kits are handy for travel and are readily avalible at the surplus os sporting goods store.

EVACUATION
Try to keep your emergency vehicle full of fuel at all times. If you live in the city you may well want to get to the country, the citys will quickly become a living horrer movie. Make arrangements with some one for a place to go away from the city as far as possable. Sleeping bags and surplus Alice packs (back packs) are available at surplus stores as are duffel bags. You should have 4 bags packed. First and most importand food and water for at least 3 days and your med bag, include your Bic lighters and flash lights in this bag. Second cookeing utinsels . Third extra clothing blankets tent ect.

WATER-FOOD-PROTECTION FOR SELF AND FAMILY-SHELTER-CLOTHING. these are the esentials for life and in the order stated.

Don't miss Oracle network on your computer for lots of good info , most especially Cordite Country at 2;00 Sundays (Archives are available) watch for Cordies new book .

PLANT THOSE DAMN GARDENS NOW, as big as you can, and plant staples, watermellon is not survival food.any questions jericopapers@yahoo.com or catch me in the chat room at Oraclebroadcasting.com
sSorry bout the spelling my spell ck quit. Is this by design to throw us off the track and give us a visable enemy at wich to vent our anger and frustrations. I'm sorry but I personaly don't think the jewish race or community , or what ever you choose to call it, is that nieve, or stupid.

Don't try to dismiss me as an "antisemite" or through ridicule, the standard tactic to attempt to make me irrelivant, I am not attacking the race, or ethnic group as a whole, I'm sure there are some mighty fine jewish american citizens out there who are just as disscusted as I at what is going on in the financial institutions. I just don't see many of them comeing forward and standing tall against the rape of our country. Hear my voice loud and clear, any one who doesn't stand with us is against us. The time to stand by with a wait and see atitude is past. We are in a struggle to save our country and our way of life.

I have a 15 year old son and 7 year old daughter that, already, will never see the freedoms that I saw as a child growing up in south west Iowa. The freedom of beeing able to ride across town on my bike to meet and play with friends, or even to play in the front yard without fear of some perverted molester or searial killer snatching them up to never be seen alive again or untill someone finds their decomposed mutilated body in a ditch somewhere, to shoot off fire works, real fireworks, at forth of july to celibrate that freedom, to tip over long abandon out houses on holloween, or to throw the rifle in the truck so I could go hunting or target shooting along the railroad tracks after school with my friends.

I fully realize those are bygone days never to be seen again, but for your own sake and for the sake of your children wake up.

The story about AIG giving hundreds of millions of dollars of our childrens money to failed, greedy, incompitant, execs who run that company as bonuses. This very morning I wake up to a story about Citi group and Goldman Saks trying to find a way arround the restrictions on our bail out gift to them so they could give millions or billions to their "incompitant" failures they call their best and brightest. Then it occured to me mabe these thieves really are their best and brightest, and they are want to be rewarded for doing an excellent and, dilligent job, the job of stealing every last penney they could from the American people and people of other lands arround the world.

I heard an analogy some where receintly comparing the money grubbers to termites, the termite is eating away at the foundation of a house and a fellow termite tells him to stop eating the support beam or the house will fall, and the glutinous termite turns to his fellow and says, so what, theres another house right next door. Its a sickness or an inbread desiese, I dont know which, it seems they just cant stop untill every last penney is gone.

I don't really think it's all the fault of "the Jews" but there certainly seems to be an inordanant number of people who call themselves "jew" involved in every aspect of the pending ruin of our free society, the education system, the news media, films, news papers, every, nook and craney that guides and directs our society. Don't take my word for it, do the research it there in plain view for all to see.

If there is in fact, other powers behind these people with a strangle hold on our freedom, as some claim, like the Masons, the Pope, Jesuits or whom ever, then you who are in the forefront had better stand, and those others who profess to be the "real jews" had better stand up and be counted with the rest of us. Ther are none in a better position to ferrit out those thieves who hide among you, or behind you than you yourselves, so I call out to you stand with us, now is your chance to be counted among the real americans I have little use for hyphonated americans and I believe it is one of the factors in devideing this great nation. In times past "the glory days" so to speak people came from all parts of the world to this country and worked hard and studied hard to earn the "privilage" to be called Americans, that is long in the past now I am told they want to be called Mexican-American, African-American, Italian American or what ever, and I take and make particular point that American takes secound position in those designations, I say to you here and now if it isn't good enough for you to be just an ordinary American then I say to you get the hell out of our country....now.

Jerico

The JERICO PAPERS

Not since the thick , dark dust clouds of the thirtys , or the horrers of WW2, Viet Nam, present day conflicts or the terrifying threat of total nuclear annihilation have we faced such potential death and distruction, to ourselves our country or the world. We are on a waterslide to the bottom with no way to get off, and like it or not you, your children, and grandchildren are along for the ride.

Those who rule this world have made the desision to strip you of any wealth, comfort, and freedom you thought was your " god" given right. The takers of these presious posessions come under many names, from many nations and in all colors and creeds. Some blame the "jewish" bankers, others the elitist leaders of the various nations. Names like Builderburger, illuminati, Jesuits, Muslims, Rockafeller, and Rothschild are bandied about , all these and more have become main stream, and the focus of various groups of those looking for someone to blame. The blame is not theirs, they only take advantage of an opertunity, an opertunity to rob us of our wealth, well being, and freedom.....our future.

We are to blame, you and I and billions of others around the world who were too busy getting our share of the "dream", or watchinf the NFL, NASCAR or other fantisy tripe served to us on the "BOOB" tube twenty four hours a day on hundreds of channels. It isnt called the "boob" tube because of the well endowed women who permiate prime time.

We were to distracted to watch the "cash box" or those stripping us of our rights. We were too busy watching TV, or playing War Craft or watching Porn on the computer to keep an eye on those entrusted with our money, our freedom, and our future.

Case in point bernard "the thieving rat" madoff (I refuse to honor that name with capitalization or use the teddy bear name Bernie like a warm fuzzy uncle) should be charged with murder for the suicides and destroyed familys that lay in his wake. He should be exicuted with a 50 cent bullet in his brain and dropped to the gutter where he belongs in stead Im sure he will get as comfortable a cell in as comfortable a country club "prison" as they can arrange, with the rest of his kind.

Let's take a closer look. How can some one like him under the supposed scruitny of "the securities and exchange "watch dogs" (I think the "dogs" part is right) get away with such a gigantic ponzi scheem for over thirty years when they were able to catch Martha Stewart for example on a private phone call from a friend?
Give me a fricken brake. Could it be that there were Billions involved in leu of a paultry $50,000 or so.

I chose bernard "the rat" only because he is the one on the front page and on the 6:oo news. Believe me folks he's only a "sacrificial lamb" to be thrown to the wolves, to draw atention from the real thievs, and yes the elite do think of us as meare animals, or sheep to be more presice to be led any direction they desire.

T he real treasure the have stolen is not even the money, they already had that eons ago with the FED central bank, they only let you play with a small portion of it from time to time like a childs toy, to keep you occupied while they stole your freedom and your country.

The constitution has been replaced by presidential directives, open boarders, and a congress concerned for the most part staying in power, and the perks and ego that go with their position. Your freedoms and your representation has been replaced with alphabet agencies who will make all the "right"decisions for the "sheeple" excuse me I mean people, agencys like FEMA, and DHS. ( Bush/Obummer et. al. same old game they just replaced the pitcher) has vowed to make the "government" streamlined, more efficient, more effective, more compact and to eliminate those departments that are inefficient or in effective.

Look for the following changes to take place (if by the time of this publication they havent already) after all with the smooth snake oil salesman at the top and us asleep at the wheel it will only make sence to the uninformed masses.

Bureau of land management will be moved to DHS, after all it only makes sence that home land security should make sure all public and private lands are secure from "the enemy"
Houseing and urban development will be moved to FEMA gotta make sure all you folks have a "secure" place to live.

Department of agriculture could go either way FEMA so it would have access to the food supply in case of national emergency or DHS so it can protect the food supply from "the enemy, both can be presented as very logical solutions to protecting food supply and distribution.

National guard will be "Nationalised" under FEMA so it can readily available for future national or regional disasters. They will use the fiasco at Katrina to show the "local officials" are not prepaired to utilize them properly or quickly enough due to the conspicous absence of Ray "head for the hills "Nagin.

Those agencys that control fuel, petrolium, and electric power will be placed under DHS as they are stratigic entities.

The military will of cource be placed under DHS after all we are concerned with "homelamd security"

I could continue down the list but by now you should have the point.
sounds like a good efficient move, why should you be cocerned? Our system of government was set up with many redundant safe guards to protect our freedoms, and our rights. The more those in power can consolidate that power the stronger they get and the weaker we become, and fewer roadblocks in their way to use that power as they choose.

Any one member of the triad ( the president, the head of DHS and the director of FEMA) can declare marshal law at any time they choose and for what ever threat the y preceive. Congress will be held powerless along with the rest of us because of the consolidations of power listed above. Once marshal law is declared the constitution bill of rights or any other rights you think you have are imedeatly suspended.

Testing of the tollarence of the American people to have armed American military troups on the ground in America is already takeing place. There have been instances of Military troups "assisting" state police at (may i see your papers please) dui check points in several citys and countys. There has been military troups preforming "practice" weapons searches and one planned in Iowa, and 25 miles up the road from me Military troups from Ft Rucker were "assisting" local law inforcement during the tragic events in Samson Alabama.
all of these military involvments are absolutly illegal according to the Posse comotatis statutes. If you recall a few short months ago many citizens were asking why doesn' the president send the army to guard the southern boarder to protect us from the invasion of illegals from Mexico and we were told it was illegal to use military troups for any operations on American soil, If that has changed in some way, why and when and how.

At this point many of you are probably moaning "conspericy theory" well to that I say your absolutly right, but all I ask is, look beyond the 6:00 news and the news paper headlines, you owe it, if not to yourself then to your children and grand children to be informed. The founders of this once great country didn't jepordize their lives and all they worked for to have it thrown away by a people who prefer to stick their heads in the sand, not to mention your own sons, daughters, fathers , grandfathers and forefathers who either died or lived the rest of their lives, with the nightmares of terrable death and distruction in countless wars in nameless places to preserve the idea that was once America.

The main stream media will only cover the high spots and many are beholding to sponsers or polititions or corperations for their high saleries and sponsorships they are not going to jepordise those relationships to get to the bottom of our problem , again its not their fault you cant blame them their onlu playing by time honord rules we allowed to be put in place, we the American people have been the loosers in this game for many decades so I say its time to change the rules or find another game. There are countless internet sights dedicated to this end. Many are broadcast radio" truth" programs as they call themselves most are beating the drum of their own agenda ie. Nazis, white supremists, militias, "patriot" movements ect. but their are a few that have only the truth as their goal it up to you to find what is your truth try "Oraclebroadcast news" or "blacklisted news "as a start then as I say find your own truth. "the truth will set you free........ but first it will piss you off" (Gloria Stienham)

One last thing I want to personally thank the brave Military people and the police officers who have joined with others on the oath-takers site,(google oath-takers) and have put in jepordy their carriers, to back the American people and if they would be so kind as to accept me as a signitur to that oath as a navy vetran of the VN area I would humbly honored to do so.
